The area starts from Dongkou Workstation which diverts water from Zengwen Reservoir at the eastern foot of Wushanling in the east, and the west includes woodland in the Wushantou Reservoir water catchment area, the reservoir water surface, water release facilities, and an extended leading channel of 1,692km to Fenqi Workstation, which runs through the north-south main canal. The South Main Canal runs from the bifurcation point southbound, crosses Guantian River and Zengwen River to Shanhua District and connects to the Lateral Canal of the South Main Canal, which is 10,072km long. The North Main Canal starts from the bifurcation point going northward across Guichong River, Bazhang River, Puzi River and ends on the left bank of Beigang River, which is 47,729km long, spanning Tainan and Jiayi counties
