Introduction
The "Irrigation Pipeline from the Taibao Sub-lateral Canal to Lohas Organic Farm" project was initiated by the Irrigation and Engineering Bureau in coordination with the Council of Agriculture (now the Ministry of Agriculture) to expand irrigation services. It aligns with local government agricultural transformation initiatives and utilizes surplus water from the Wushantou Reservoir to ensure a stable irrigation supply.
Considering topographical and environmental factors, this project adopted an approach that diverges from traditional reinforced concrete structures. Instead, it used HDPE pipes as the primary design element. The design strategy adhered to ecological conservation principles of avoidance, minimization, and mitigation, significantly reducing habitat disruption and preserving the integrity of local ecosystems while successfully expanding irrigation services in line with policy objectives.
